Basketball fans are in for a treat as the National Basketball Association makes its highly anticipated return to NBC, marking its first broadcast on the network in over two decades. This momentous occasion also signifies the league’s debut on Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service. The evening kicks off with an NBA Tip-Off doubleheader, beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET with a matchup between the Houston Rockets and the reigning NBA champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder. This game is particularly notable as it features Kevin Durant making his debut with the Rockets against his former team. Following that contest, at 10:00 p.m. ET, the Golden State Warriors will face off against the Los Angeles Lakers in a classic Western Conference showdown. Live coverage for the NBA’s return to NBC begins at 6:30 p.m. ET, with all games streaming live nationwide on Peacock.

‘Wicked’ Takes Over Dancing With the Stars

For those seeking a dose of glitz, glamour, and theatrical magic, “Dancing With the Stars” on ABC and Disney+ is set to transport viewers to the Land of Oz with its “Wicked Night.” This special episode will feature the remaining celebrity contestants performing gravity-defying routines set to iconic songs from the beloved “Wicked” musical and the upcoming film “Wicked: For Good.” Adding an extra layer of expertise to the judging panel will be Jon M. Chu, the acclaimed director of the “Wicked” films. The episode will also offer viewers an exclusive, never-before-seen clip from “Wicked: For Good,” which is slated for theatrical release later in November. Special video messages from the film’s cast, including Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, are also expected to be featured. The competition heats up at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Tyler Posey Guest Stars in ‘Murder in a Small Town’

Adding a dose of mystery to the evening’s television News, actor Tyler Posey, known for his role in “Teen Wolf,” makes a guest appearance on Fox’s crime drama “Murder in a Small Town.” Posey will star in the episode titled “Strangers Among Us,” airing at 8:00 p.m. ET. His character, Ryan Coogan, becomes entangled in the ongoing investigation after a wounded body is discovered. As the local authorities, led by Chief Karl Alberg, search for the perpetrator, they uncover connections to an older, unsolved case, promising a complex and layered narrative typical of the series.

Netflix’s Trio of Tuesday Releases

Netflix is rolling out a compelling selection of new content on October 21st. Comedy enthusiasts can look forward to “Michelle Wolf: The Well,” a new stand-up special from the sharp-witted comedian, where she tackles topics ranging from motherhood to societal observations. For fans of sports history and true crime, the documentary “Who Killed the Montreal Expos?” delves into the complex story behind the downfall of Canada’s beloved baseball franchise. Additionally, “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” Season 2 makes its debut on the streaming giant, continuing the post-apocalyptic journey of its titular character. These Netflix releases provide a strong mix of humor, compelling storytelling, and genre-defining drama.
