The day kicks off early with Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre Presents ‘Night Out in the Parks: THE HEART OF THE STORY’ at Douglass Park, beginning at 6:00 AM. This semi-interactive concert dance program promises to be an engaging experience, with performances customized to celebrate the community and the complexity of the human spirit through choreography that explores dualities of strength and vulnerability. Later in the evening, the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts will host Sullivan Fortner & His Galactic Friends at 7:30 PM. This performance features GRAMMY-winning pianist Sullivan Fortner, who, with his band, channels the avant-garde spirit of Sun Ra through energetic jazz, merging New Orleans grit with fearless invention. Pre-show jazz concerts presented in partnership with the Jazz Institute of Chicago will also be available.

Cinematic Delights Under the Stars

For film enthusiasts, Rooftop Cinema Club at Fulton Market offers a triple feature of beloved movies. Kicking off the evening at 5:00 PM is the endlessly rewatchable cult classic ‘Hocus Pocus’. Following that, patrons can get their scare on with screenings of ‘Scream (1996)’ at 7:45 PM and ‘Scream 2’ at 10:30 PM. These outdoor screenings provide a unique urban cinema experience with stunning city views, complete with provided wireless headphones for optimal sound quality.

Unique Entertainment and Melodies

Experience a different kind of party with Bingo Loco: The Ultimate Bingo Party at Morgan MFG, starting at 3:00 PM. Far from a traditional bingo night, this event is billed as a “bingo rave” featuring comedian MCs, top DJs, dance-offs, confetti showers, and exciting prizes. For a more enchanting evening, the Arts Center of Oak Park will host Candlelight: The Wizard of Oz – A Classical Concert at 6:30 PM. A talented string ensemble will perform iconic songs from the beloved 1939 film, bringing the magic of Oz to life in a candlelit atmosphere.

Informative Sessions and Lively Gatherings

Those interested in health and wellness can attend ‘Running Pain Relief with Biofreeze’ at McCormick Place at 2:00 PM. This panel discussion brings together experts to discuss effective pain relief strategies for runners, highlighting Biofreeze products and marathon weekend activations. For a more academic focus, the University of Chicago Divinity School presents ‘Horror Writing and Religion – An American Prophets Program’ at 6:30 PM, featuring a panel of award-winning writers discussing spirituality and its role in horror. Additionally, a collaborative launch party for Number Six With Cheese x Miskatonic Brewing is scheduled for 7:00 PM at Hopsmith Chicago.

October 10, 2025, in Chicago offers a compelling mix of artistic expression, nostalgic entertainment, and engaging experiences. Whether seeking a night of music, a classic film, a unique party, or informative discussions, there are ample opportunities to explore the city’s diverse offerings and enjoy all that Chicago has to offer.
