Atlanta, GA – September 15, 2025 – The wait is nearly over for fans eager to hear new music from Grammy-winning artist Young Thug. The rapper has officially confirmed that his fourth studio album, the highly anticipated ‘Uy Scuti,’ is slated for release this Friday, September 19, 2025. This major announcement came at the conclusion of his seven-minute music video for the new single, “Man I Miss My Dawgs.”

The confirmation of ‘Uy Scuti”s release date arrived unexpectedly at the end of the music video for “Man I Miss My Dawgs,” which dropped on September 12. The visual also served as an emotional platform for the artist, whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, to address recent controversies stemming from leaked jail calls. In the track and video, Young Thug issued public apologies to his girlfriend, Mariah The Scientist, as well as frequent collaborators like Drake, Lil Baby, and 21 Savage, seeking to mend relationships and clear the air.

‘Uy Scuti’: A Title of Cosmic Ambition

The album’s title, ‘Uy Scuti,’ is itself a point of fascination. Named after one of the largest known stars in the universe—a red supergiant—the title reflects Young Thug’s ambition to reassert his presence in the music industry on a massive scale. He has expressed that the name signifies his feeling of being “out of this world” and his perception of himself as one of the “biggest stars” in the current rap landscape.

A Post-Incarceration Statement

‘Uy Scuti’ marks a significant milestone as Young Thug’s first full-length studio album since his release from jail in October 2024. Williams accepted a plea deal in the YSL RICO case, concluding a lengthy legal battle and resulting in his release after nearly two years of incarceration. The album is widely viewed not only as a musical comeback but as a statement of resilience and artistic evolution following the intense scrutiny and personal challenges he faced during his time in jail.

Anticipation and Competition

Young Thug has been building anticipation for ‘Uy Scuti’ for months, with hints appearing through custom merchandise, social media posts, and cryptic billboards. The album’s release on September 19 places it directly in competition with other high-profile projects. Notably, Cardi B is also set to drop her sophomore album, ‘Am I The Drama?,’ on the same day, as is YFN Lucci with his project ‘Already Legend.’ Despite past tensions between Young Thug and YFN Lucci, stemming from disputes in 2017, Thug recently downplayed any lingering animosity, expressing well wishes for his fellow artist.

Sonic Landscape and Collaborations

While specific details on the full tracklist are still emerging, ‘Uy Scuti’ is expected to feature a diverse range of sounds, consistent with Young Thug’s experimental approach to music. Confirmed production is slated from industry heavyweights such as Wheezy, Southside, and Metro Boomin. The album is also set to include guest appearances from notable artists, with confirmed features including Future, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Ken Carson, and Mariah the Scientist.

A Defining Moment

With ‘Uy Scuti,’ Young Thug appears poised to deliver a project that is both deeply personal and artistically expansive. The convergence of his return post-incarceration, the cosmic theme of the album title, and the star-studded features suggest that this release could be a defining moment in his influential career. The music news surrounding this album confirms the ongoing significance of Young Thug as a major artist in contemporary hip-hop.
