September 2025 is set to be a banner month for streaming enthusiasts, with a robust slate of new TV shows and movies dropping across major platforms including Netflix, HBO Max, Apple TV+, and Disney+. From highly anticipated theatrical releases making their digital debut to compelling new series, this month offers a diverse range of content for every viewer.

Blockbuster Film Releases Hit Streaming Services

Leading the charge is the live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch, which arrives on Disney+ on September 3rd. This adaptation has already proven to be a massive hit, grossing over $1 billion at the global box office, making it a significant contender for the year’s biggest film. Its transition from theaters to streaming is highly anticipated by fans eager to revisit the beloved story.

Cinema lovers can also look forward to A24’s critically acclaimed releases making their way to HBO Max and Apple TV+. Spike Lee’s modern reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa’s classic, ‘Highest 2 Lowest,’ starring Denzel Washington, premieres on Apple TV+ on September 5th. This reunion of Lee and Washington marks their fifth collaboration and explores themes of morality within the music industry.

Following closely is Alex Garland’s intense war thriller, ‘Warfare,’ which debuts on HBO Max on September 12th. Praised for its visceral realism and immersive, real-time depiction of the Iraq War, the film stars Joseph Quinn, Charles Melton, and Will Poulter, and is co-directed by Garland and Iraq War veteran Ray Mendoza.

Netflix is also bolstering its movie offerings with Liam Neeson’s action thriller ‘Ice Road: Vengeance,’ set to stream on September 15th. The film, a sequel to ‘The Ice Road,’ ventures into the perilous landscape of the Himalayas, with Neeson reprising his role as a truck driver caught in a dangerous conflict.

New TV Series and Returning Favorites

On the television front, September sees the premiere of the Indonesian comedy-drama series ‘Ratu Ratu Queens,’ arriving on Netflix on September 12th. This prequel to the 2021 film ‘Ali & Ratu Ratu Queens’ follows the lives of four Indonesian immigrant women navigating their new lives in Queens, New York, exploring themes of friendship, resilience, and cultural challenges.

Fans of returning series will be eager for the fourth season of ‘The Morning Show,’ premiering on Apple TV+ on September 17th, with Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon back at the helm. Apple TV+ is also bringing back its popular spy drama ‘Slow Horses’ for its fifth season on September 24th.

Other Notable Streaming Releases

Throughout the month, various platforms will introduce a wealth of additional content. Prime Video’s September lineup includes the continued release of weekly episodes for ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ season 3, concluding on September 17th.

HBO Max is set to expand its library with the A24 comedy-drama ‘Friendship,’ starring Paul Rudd and Tim Robinson, available from September 5th.

With a constant stream of new releases, September 2025 promises to be a dynamic month for streaming content, offering something for everyone seeking fresh movies and Tv news on their favorite platforms.
