Taste of Chicago 2025: Full Schedule Unveiled Featuring Grant Park Finale and Expanded Neighborhood Events

Chicago, IL – The City of Chicago has officially unveiled the complete schedule for the 2025 Taste of Chicago, the metropolis’s signature annual celebration of its diverse culinary landscape and vibrant music scene. Mayor Brandon Johnson and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) announced the full details, confirming that the event will span across various Chicago neighborhoods before culminating in a grand finale weekend at the iconic Grant Park.

Admission remains free for all Taste of Chicago events, continuing a tradition aimed at making the city’s rich food and culture accessible to residents and visitors alike. The main event in Grant Park is scheduled to take place from September 5–7, 2025.

Citywide Culinary Showcase

Building on recent iterations, the 2025 Taste of Chicago will once again feature dedicated neighborhood celebrations preceding the Grant Park main event. This decentralized approach allows the festival to reach deeper into Chicago’s communities, highlighting local eateries and cultural vibrancy beyond the downtown core. Specific dates and locations for the neighborhood Taste events are expected to be announced closer to the festival period, generating anticipation across the city’s diverse areas.

This citywide model reinforces the idea that Chicago’s culinary heart beats not only in its central business district but thrives in its many distinct neighborhoods, each offering unique flavors and cultural experiences.

The Grant Park Centerpiece

The festival’s traditional anchor, Grant Park, will host the culminating weekend from September 5th through September 7th, 2025. This downtown gathering will feature a significant number of food and beverage vendors, musical performances, and family-friendly activities.

The scale of the culinary offerings at the Grant Park event is substantial. The schedule confirms a total of 45 vendor booths, providing ample opportunity for attendees to sample a wide array of Chicago’s gastronomic talent. Of these, 41 are traditional food booths, showcasing everything from deep-dish pizza and Italian beef to international cuisine and gourmet street food. Additionally, the expanded Snack Shack section will feature four vendors, one more than the lineup seen in 2024, offering lighter bites and specialty treats.

Complementing the booths, a fleet of 17 food trucks will be present in Grant Park, adding another dimension to the mobile dining experience and further diversifying the available options.

A Blend of New Flavors and Enduring Icons

The 2025 Taste of Chicago is set to introduce attendees to fresh culinary perspectives while welcoming back beloved mainstays. Approximately 20% of the total food participants across the event are new this year, indicating a deliberate effort to rotate vendors and highlight emerging talent within the city’s dynamic food scene.

This influx of new participants includes 10 new food booth vendors and two new food truck vendors, promising exciting discoveries for even the most seasoned festival-goers. Sam Toia, President and CEO of the Illinois Restaurant Association, underscored the significance of the event for the city’s food industry, stating, “Taste of Chicago remains a vital platform for showcasing the incredible talent and diversity of Chicago’s restaurants. It’s a celebration of our city’s vibrant food scene, connecting businesses with hundreds of thousands of people.”

Among the new food vendors confirmed for the Grant Park event are an eclectic mix representing various cuisines and styles: Beat Kitchen Cantina, ChefLife19, Chillafry, Crave Cookies, Dao Thai Restaurant, Hubbard Inn, Khmai, Lexington Betty Smoke House, Nitro Nostalgia Ice Cream and Board Game Cafe, and Thimi’s Empanadas. These new additions signal an expansion of international and contemporary flavors available at the festival’s main location.

Patrons will also be pleased to find the return of perennial favorites that have become synonymous with the Taste of Chicago experience. Iconic participants like Eli’s Cheesecake, Connie’s Pizza, and The Original Rainbow Cone are slated to participate, ensuring that classic Chicago tastes remain a central part of the event.

Beyond the Plate: Music and Family Fun

While food takes center stage, the Taste of Chicago traditionally offers a broader festival experience. The 2025 schedule confirms dedicated sponsored areas designed to enhance attendee enjoyment.

The Goose Island Stage is expected to host a lineup of musical performances, providing entertainment throughout the event days in Grant Park. For families, the Disney Resorts Family Village will offer activities and entertainment tailored for younger attendees, ensuring the festival is an appealing destination for all ages.

Further details regarding specific musical acts and family programming are anticipated as the event dates draw nearer.

Anticipation Builds for 2025

The release of the full schedule marks a significant step in the planning for the 2025 Taste of Chicago. With its blend of neighborhood celebrations and a large-scale Grant Park finale, a diverse array of vendors including a substantial number of new participants, and free admission, the event is poised to once again be a major highlight on Chicago’s annual calendar, drawing crowds eager to experience the best of the city’s food, music, and culture.
