Dubai, UAE – Deloitte Middle East and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have unveiled a significant expansion of their strategic alliance, announcing plans to collectively deliver an estimated $1 billion worth of services to organizations across the Middle East by the year 2030. This ambitious initiative is specifically designed to accelerate the pace of digital transformation throughout the region.

The collaboration, building upon an existing global partnership between Deloitte and AWS, targets assisting businesses in leveraging cutting-edge and emerging technologies. Key areas of focus include the implementation of generative AI, advanced data analytics, and robust, secure cloud infrastructure.

Deepening the Alliance for Regional Growth

The expanded collaboration emphasizes cloud-native technologies and a strategic AI-first approach, reflecting the growing demand for sophisticated digital capabilities within the Middle East’s diverse economies. The initiative was formally initiated during a meeting held at Deloitte’s Middle East offices in Dubai.

High-level representation underscored the importance of this expanded partnership. Attendees at the foundational meeting included Rashid Bashir, who serves as the Technology & Transformation Leader at Deloitte Middle East, and Tanuja Randery, the Managing Director for Europe, Middle East & Africa at AWS. Their presence signals the strategic alignment and commitment from both global organizations towards the Middle East market.

Strategic Investments and Capability Building

Both Deloitte Middle East and AWS have committed to substantial investments under this expanded alliance. These investments are primarily aimed at scaling regional capabilities necessary to support the initiative’s goals. A key objective is to further support and accelerate local cloud adoption among businesses and government entities across the Middle East.

Furthermore, the partners plan to stimulate economic growth by focusing on key sectors that stand to benefit significantly from digital acceleration. While specific sectors were not detailed in the announcement, digital transformation is widely recognized as a critical enabler across industries such as finance, energy, public sector, retail, and healthcare in the region.

Strengthening Expertise and Innovation Hubs

A core component of Deloitte’s commitment within this alliance involves enhancing its human capital and infrastructure dedicated to AWS technologies in the Middle East. Deloitte intends to substantially increase its number of AWS-certified practitioners in the region.

This focus on certification aims to build a deeper pool of local expertise capable of designing, implementing, and managing complex cloud and AI solutions on the AWS platform. An increase in certified professionals directly translates to enhanced service delivery capabilities for clients.

In parallel with personnel development, Deloitte plans to invest in dedicated Centers of Excellence. These centers are envisioned as hubs for innovation, solution development, and talent nurturing, specifically focusing on AWS technologies and the application of AI, data analytics, and cloud infrastructure tailored to the unique needs of the Middle East market.

Driving Technological Adoption: AI, Data, and Cloud Security

The focus on technologies like generative AI, data analytics, and secure cloud infrastructure is particularly pertinent for the Middle East. Regions globally are grappling with how to effectively and securely integrate AI into operations, unlock value from vast datasets, and ensure the resilience and security of digital platforms hosted in the cloud.

Generative AI holds the potential to revolutionize processes, spur innovation, and create new business models. Data analytics provides the insights necessary for informed decision-making and personalized customer experiences. Secure cloud infrastructure forms the foundational layer, providing the scalability, reliability, and security required to support these advanced applications.

The emphasis on an AI-first approach suggests that artificial intelligence will not merely be an add-on but a central consideration in the solutions and strategies developed under this alliance. This approach aims to embed AI capabilities intrinsically into business processes and cloud architectures from the outset.

A Vision for the Future

The $1 billion target by 2030 underscores the scale of ambition behind this collaboration. It signifies a long-term commitment from both Deloitte and AWS to be key players in shaping the digital future of the Middle East.

By combining Deloitte’s extensive consulting experience, deep industry knowledge, and regional presence with AWS’s leading cloud platform and technological innovation, the alliance seeks to provide businesses with the comprehensive support needed to navigate the complexities of digital transformation.

The initiative is poised to empower organizations across the Middle East to become more agile, efficient, and innovative, ultimately contributing to the region’s broader economic diversification and digital readiness goals. The strategic investments in talent and infrastructure further solidify the commitment to building sustainable, local capabilities essential for long-term success in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
