The music world is buzzing as two of today’s most prominent artists, Cardi B and Miley Cyrus, have simultaneously released major new projects, marking a significant day for new music releases.

Cardi B’s Highly Anticipated Return: “Am I the Drama?”

After a seven-year hiatus since her critically acclaimed debut album “Invasion of Privacy,” rapper Cardi B has officially dropped her sophomore LP, “Am I the Drama?” Released on Friday, September 19, 2025, the 23-track album arrives with a title that directly addresses the public scrutiny the artist has often faced. The project sees Cardi B doubling down on her signature strengths: confident lyricism, sharp wit, and unapologetic bravado, channeling headlines and personal experiences into her music.

“Am I the Drama?” boasts an impressive roster of collaborators, featuring high-profile artists such as Janet Jackson, Lizzo, Selena Gomez, Megan Thee Stallion, Kehlani, Summer Walker, Cash Cobain, and Tyla. The album also includes previously released singles like the chest-thumping “Outside” and the Jay-Z-sampling “Imaginary Playerz,” alongside chart-topping hits “WAP” and “Up”. The inclusion of these older tracks on her new album sparked some online debate, with Cardi B responding directly to criticism, stating that these songs, which were among her biggest hits, “deserve a home” and do not count towards the first-week sales of her new project.

Cardi B’s personal life has also been a recent focal point, with the artist having recently announced her fourth pregnancy and emerged victorious from a Los Angeles courtroom. The album’s release is accompanied by extensive promotional efforts, including street-level marketing, pop-up events in New York City, and sold-out meet-and-greets across the United States. Fans can also anticipate the “Little Miss Drama Tour” in 2026, her first arena tour, which will span over 30 dates across North America.

Miley Cyrus Expands “Something Beautiful” with New Tracks

Adding to the day’s major music news, Miley Cyrus has unveiled a deluxe edition of her 2025 album, “Something Beautiful.” Titled “Something Beautiful (Deluxe),” this expanded version was released on September 19, 2025, offering fans two new songs to explore.

The standout addition is “Secrets,” a significant collaboration that features none other than Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood, legendary members of Fleetwood Mac. This track marks a full-circle moment for Cyrus, who previously sampled Fleetwood Mac’s iconic “Edge of Seventeen” for her 2020 song “Edge of Midnight” with Stevie Nicks. Cyrus has described “Secrets” as a peace offering to her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, and expressed gratitude to Buckingham and Fleetwood for their contributions to the music.

The second new track on the deluxe edition is “Lockdown,” a sprawling 13-and-a-half-minute collaboration with David Byrne, frontman of the Talking Heads. This expands on Cyrus’s exploration of profound themes, following the original “Something Beautiful” album, which was released earlier in the year and accompanied by a visual film. The deluxe edition integrates these new pieces with the original thirteen tracks, providing a more comprehensive artistic statement from the celebrated artist.

A Blockbuster Music Friday

This dual release event marks a significant moment in the contemporary music landscape, with two globally recognized artists dropping substantial bodies of work on the same day. The releases highlight the diverse sounds and styles available to music fans today, from Cardi B’s bold hip-hop anthems to Miley Cyrus’s introspective and collaborative pop offerings. The extensive features and thematic depth across both projects underscore the ongoing evolution and influence of these artists within the music industry. This major music news is sure to dominate charts and conversations for weeks to come.
