For aficionados of the horror genre, a new installment in a well-established franchise makes its streaming debut. “Final Destination Bloodlines,” the latest chapter in the popular horror series known for its elaborate death sequences, is now streaming. Directed by the filmmaking duo Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, the movie arrives on streaming platforms approximately a month after its initial theatrical release, allowing fans who missed it on the big screen to experience its chilling narrative.

In the realm of comedy, the new A24 production “Friendship” is now accessible on demand. This film, directed by Andrew DeYoung, features a comedic lineup including Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd. The availability “on demand” indicates it can be rented or purchased digitally through various services, separate from subscription platforms like Netflix or Hulu.

Several prominent television series also mark significant points in their runs this weekend. Season 2 of “The Buccaneers” premiered on Apple TV+ on June 18. This series, created by Katherine Jakeways, is based on the unfinished novel of the same name by the celebrated author Edith Wharton. The second season continues to explore the lives of American heiresses navigating London society and is releasing new episodes on a weekly basis, building anticipation with each installment.

Another returning period drama is Season 3 of “The Gilded Age.” This series, which depicts the dramatic social changes and conflicts of late 19th-century New York City, premiered its third season on HBO on June 16. Airing on the premium cable network’s traditional channel and its streaming counterpart, the show continues its exploration of wealth, power, and societal transformation during a pivotal era in American history.

Prime Video adds a new television adaptation to its library with “We Were Liars,” which became available on the platform this week. Based on the acclaimed young adult novel, the series stars Emily Alyn Lind, Esther McGregor, and Joseph Zada, bringing the book’s mystery and drama to the screen for subscribers of Amazon’s streaming service.

Completing the list of seven new releases is the animated feature “KPop Demon Hunters.” Produced by Sony Pictures Animation, this film combines the vibrant world of K-pop music with action and fantasy elements. “KPop Demon Hunters” is now streaming on Netflix, appealing to audiences interested in animated adventures and the global phenomenon of Korean pop music.

This weekend’s streaming offerings highlight the breadth and depth of content available across major platforms, from biographical documentaries and horror sequels to literary adaptations and unique animated features. Viewers are presented with ample opportunities to discover new favorites or catch up with returning series, all accessible from the comfort of their homes across Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV+, HBO, Prime Video, Disney+, and on-demand services.
