FOX is kicking off the week with the highly anticipated premieres of its popular animated series. “The Simpsons” returns for its 37th season on Sunday, September 28, promising fresh satirical takes on contemporary issues and new adventures for the Springfield residents. The season will feature 17 episodes, with a hybrid distribution strategy including two exclusive episodes on Disney+. Following closely is the premiere of “Krapopolis” for its third season, also on Sunday, September 28. The animated mythological comedy from Dan Harmon, set in ancient Greece, continues to explore the chaotic coexistence of humans, gods, and monsters. Rounding out FOX’s Sunday animation block is the sixteenth season of “Bob’s Burgers”. This season is particularly significant as it marks the show’s 300th episode, which will delve into the origins of Bob and Linda’s burger business. New episodes of these animated staples will be available to stream on Hulu the day after their broadcast.

Netflix Delves into True Crime and Fantasy

Netflix is bringing a darker tone to the week with the debut of “Monster: The Ed Gein Story” on Friday, October 3. This third season of the “Monster” anthology series, created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, stars Charlie Hunnam as the infamous serial killer and grave robber whose crimes inspired classic horror films like “Psycho” and “The Silence of the Lambs”. The eight-episode season promises a deep dive into Gein’s life and the psychological complexity behind his horrific acts.

Apple TV+ Explores Magical Worlds and Fairy Tales

Apple TV+ is offering a blend of fantasy and adventure with the premiere of “The Sisters Grimm” on Friday, October 3. Based on Michael Buckley’s bestselling book series, this animated show follows two orphaned sisters who discover their lineage to the Brothers Grimm and must navigate a town populated by fairy tale characters, confronting both heroes and villains as they search for their missing parents. The series aims to deliver lessons on discovery, adventure, and fantasy for all ages.

Hulu Adds Comedy and True Crime to Its Lineup

Hulu is set to debut “Chad Powers” on Tuesday, September 30. This sports comedy, inspired by Eli Manning’s viral sketch, stars Glen Powell as a former college football player who reinvents himself as the titular Chad to try out for a struggling team. The series will premiere with two episodes, followed by weekly installments. Additionally, Hulu is adding the documentary “Death in Apartment 603: What Happened to Ellen Greenberg?” on Sunday, September 29, offering a true-crime investigation.

Acorn TV Unveils Intriguing Mysteries

Acorn TV is continuing its tradition of delivering captivating mysteries with the premiere of “Murder Before Evensong” on Monday, September 29. The series stars Matthew Lewis as Canon Daniel Clement, a village rector who finds himself entangled in a murder investigation after a local man is found dead. The premiere promises to delve into hidden secrets within the seemingly peaceful village life.

The week of September 28 to October 4 is packed with diverse television and streaming releases, offering something for every viewer, from long-running animated staples to new dramatic and fantastical narratives. This influx of new content underscores the dynamic and ever-evolving landscape of TV and streaming.
