The 2025 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards are set to celebrate the significant contributions of two influential artists, T-Pain and GloRilla, who will be recognized with prestigious honors at the upcoming ceremony. The event, scheduled for Thursday, August 28, in Los Angeles, CA, will see GRAMMY Award-winning artist, producer, and songwriter T-Pain receive the coveted BMI President’s Award. Simultaneously, GRAMMY-nominated lyricist, songwriter, and performer GloRilla will be presented with the BMI Impact Award.

T-Pain Honored for Enduring Career

T-Pain, celebrated for a career that has produced hit songs resonating across multiple generations, will be acknowledged with the BMI President’s Award. This accolade recognizes the depth and breadth of his work, which has left an indelible mark on the music landscape. His extensive catalog features iconic tracks such as “Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin’),” “Bartender,” “I’m Sprung,” and “I’m N Luv (Wit a Stripper).” These songs have not only achieved widespread commercial success but have also become cultural touchstones, cementing T-Pain’s legacy as a genre-defining artist.

GloRilla Recognized for Groundbreaking Artistry

GloRilla will receive the BMI Impact Award, an honor that celebrates her groundbreaking artistry, distinctive creative vision, and her substantial influence on the future trajectory of music. Since her breakout single “FNF (Let’s Go),” GloRilla has experienced a meteoric rise, charting an impressive four Hot 100 top 30 hits. These include fan favorites like “Yeah Glo!,” “Whatchu Kno About Me,” “TGIF,” and the collaboration “Wanna Be” with Megan Thee Stallion. Her unique sound and unapologetic lyrical style have quickly established her as a formidable force in contemporary music. GloRilla’s previous accolades include two BMI Awards and multiple Grammy nominations, underscoring her critical and commercial acclaim.

The 2025 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards Ceremony

The 2025 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards ceremony will be hosted by BMI President & CEO Mike O’Neill, Executive Vice President Mike Steinberg, and Vice President Catherine Brewton. The annual event serves as a platform to honor the creators behind the most impactful R&B and Hip-Hop music of the past year. In addition to presenting the President’s Award and Impact Award, the ceremony will also recognize the songwriters, producers, and publishers responsible for the year’s 35 Most-Performed R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Furthermore, the highly anticipated BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Songwriter, Song, Producer, and Publisher of the Year will be announced during the Los Angeles event, highlighting the key individuals and works that have shaped the genre over the preceding twelve months. The evening promises to be a celebration of creativity, innovation, and lasting impact within the R&B and Hip-Hop communities.
