Chicago is preparing for a vibrant and event-filled summer season, offering a diverse array of activities that span music, culture, sports, and culinary delights. The city’s extensive summer programming runs from May through August, utilizing iconic locations such as Millennium Park and the Shedd Aquarium as key venues for public engagement and entertainment.

Millennium Park: A Hub for Free Entertainment

Millennium Park stands as a cornerstone of Chicago’s summer offerings, hosting a variety of free events accessible to the public. Music enthusiasts can look forward to an extensive schedule of free concerts, while moviegoers will appreciate the opportunity to enjoy films under the stars. A highlight of the season is the esteemed Grant Park Music Festival, now celebrating its 90th year. This festival is a long-standing tradition providing classical music performances. Complementing this are the Summer Film Series and the Millennium Park Music Series, the latter of which is notable for showcasing performances by a wide range of diverse artists, reflecting the city’s rich cultural tapestry. These events collectively transform the park into a dynamic stage for arts and entertainment throughout the summer months.

Jazzin’ at the Shedd: Music with a View

Continuing its popular summer tradition, Jazzin’ at the Shedd returns every Wednesday night, offering a unique blend of music and breathtaking views. This event invites ticket holders to experience live jazz performances within the stunning setting of the Shedd Aquarium. Beyond the music, attendees can enjoy cocktails while taking in unparalleled skyline views of Chicago. Jazzin’ at the Shedd provides a sophisticated mid-week escape and is scheduled to continue captivating audiences every Wednesday night through August 27th.

July: A Month Packed with Premier Events
