Chicago is set to host two major events on Friday, January 30, 2026. The Discover Boating Chicago Boat Show opens its doors. Simultaneously, the Chicago Blackhawks face off against the Columbus Blue Jackets. This day offers diverse entertainment for Chicago residents and visitors.

A Premier Showcase for Water Enthusiasts

The Discover Boating Chicago Boat Show returns. It will run from January 28 to February 1, 2026. The new venue is the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont. Attendees can explore a vast array of boats. This includes everything from kayaks to luxury yachts and RVs. The show is a destination for outdoor lovers. It highlights the latest in marine technology and equipment. Visitors can also enjoy special features. These include the Discover Boating Beach Club and the PaddleFest Pool. Kids can enjoy bumper boats and a trout fishing pond. The show also offers daily seminars. Expert talks provide insights for all boaters. Exhibitors will showcase brands like Chris-Craft, MasterCraft, and Boston Whaler. Special show-only pricing will be available. This event is a prime opportunity for those looking to buy a boat.

Blackhawks Host Blue Jackets for an NHL Showdown

On the sports front, the United Center hosts an NHL game. The Chicago Blackhawks will play the Columbus Blue Jackets. This game is scheduled for Friday, January 30, 2026. The puck drops at 8:30 p.m. ET. NHL Network will broadcast the game. The Blackhawks are looking to improve their season. They have struggled recently, with a 3-5-2 record in their last 10 games. The Blue Jackets, however, are performing better. They recently defeated the Philadelphia Flyers. The Blackhawks enter this game on a four-game losing streak. Historically, the Blackhawks have a strong record against the Blue Jackets. They have won 59 games to the Blue Jackets’ 42. The teams have met 103 times in the NHL.

Two Events, One City

These two events highlight Chicago’s vibrant offerings. The Boat Show caters to leisure and outdoor adventure. It brings together industry professionals and enthusiasts. The hockey game provides thrilling professional sports action. Both events draw significant crowds. They contribute to the city’s dynamic atmosphere. Visitors can explore both experiences. This offers a unique blend of recreation and sport. Enjoy a day of nautical exploration. Then, cheer on the Blackhawks in the evening. Chicago truly has something for everyone. It’s a great time to visit and explore.
