The 2024 Lexus US Open of Surfing, held from August 3 to 11 in Huntington Beach, California, once again solidified its reputation as the world’s premier surf competition. Drawing hundreds of thousands of spectators, this year’s event showcased a blend of seasoned professionals and emerging talents, all vying for glory on the iconic waves of Surf City USA.

A Historic Triumph for Sally Fitzgibbons

Australian surfer Sally Fitzgibbons delivered a stellar performance, clinching her second US Open title, 13 years after her first victory in 2011. Her journey to the top was marked by consistent excellence, culminating in a final showdown against 17-year-old American prodigy Bella Kenworthy. Fitzgibbons’ victory not only reaffirmed her status in the surfing world but also propelled her to the top of the Challenger Series rankings, bringing her closer to requalifying for the Championship Tour in 2025.
