The city welcomes a surge of Italian dining experiences. Tre Denari opened in River North, located inside Bally’s Chicago. One Off Hospitality and Chef Paul Kahan collaborated on this project. Tre Denari offers rustic Italian fare, and the restaurant boasts a refined yet approachable menu, a welcome addition to the Chicago Food Scene.

Chef Joe Flamm brings Bar Tutto to Fulton Market, an all-day Italian cafe and restaurant. It draws inspiration from Italy’s vibrant piazzas. Bar Tutto serves breakfast pastries and espresso. Later, it offers fresh pastas and spritzes. Flamm also opened il Carciofo, this West Loop restaurant focuses on rustic Roman cuisine, further enriching the Chicago Food Scene.

Chicago’s fine dining scene also sees shifts. Alinea, a renowned establishment, was downgraded from three to two Michelin star restaurants Chicago in the 2025 guide. Despite this change, Alinea was named the best restaurant in the U.S. in the 21st century by Robb Report. Smyth, however, maintained its three Michelin stars.
